Open Source .NET CMS Alternative to Wordpress

Written by Zack Schwartz

As a .NET developer, I have often found myself in a difficult position when it comes to building websites or bespoke systems with a content management component. In the past, I have had to resort to using Wordpress or Strapi, despite neither of them being built in .NET. This was a constant disappointment for me, as I wanted to use a CMS that was built using the same technology as the rest of my projects. This experience led me to realize that there was a significant gap in the market for a robust and reliable .NET-based CMS. And that's why we built Raytha.

The most popular content management system in the world is Wordpress with roughly 65% of the marketshare. Having been around for 20 years, the world around Wordpress is much bigger than the platform itself. It is not Raytha's goal to take down Wordpress, but we do strive to address the specific needs of .NET developers. Wordpress falls way short in this department.

Experienced .NET developers want a fast platform built on CleanArchitecture's CQRS pattern, but with all of the plumbing taken care of: RBAC, audit logs, cloud file storage, SAML/JWT, user management and an automatically generated REST API. The template engine and CMS built on top of it is just a nice bonus.

In summary, Raytha is a great alternative to Wordpress for developers who write C# and .NET code, since it offers a range of features tailored to their specific needs. If you're looking for a powerful, flexible CMS that can help you streamline your workflow and simplify your development process, then Raytha is definitely worth checking out.
