Restore deleted content items
When you delete a content item, Raytha moves it to the trash of its content type instead of destroying it. You can bring it back, or delete it permanently from the same place.
What you need
- Access to the content type the item belonged to.
- The item must have been deleted with Delete item. Items removed by deleting their whole content type are gone for good.
Restore an item
- Click the content type in the sidebar, for example Posts.
- Open the Settings menu in the page header and choose Trash.
- Find the item. The page is titled with the plural label followed by trash, and it lists each item's Title and when it was Deleted. Use the Search trash box if the list is long.
- Click Restore on its row.
The item leaves the trash and is back in the content type's list.
What a restored item looks like

| Route path | The old address if it is still free. If something else has taken it since, the item gets <content type developer name>/<item id> instead. Change it in the item's Settings card. |
| Template | The template it had, if that template belongs to the active theme. If not, Raytha uses the Content item detail view template of the active theme. |
| Id | The same id as before, so links that use the id keep working. |
Delete permanently
- Open the content type's Trash as above.
- Click Delete on the item's row.
- Confirm in the dialog titled Delete permanently?, which warns "This cannot be undone."
Warning Permanent deletion cannot be reversed. If you may need the data later, export it first; see Export content items to CSV.
An empty trash shows "Trash is empty".
Gotchas
- You cannot delete the home page. Change the home page first; see Set the home page.
- The trash belongs to one content type. Look in the trash of the type the item belonged to.
- Site pages do not use the trash. Deleting a site page removes it. Use Revisions on a page to roll back a layout, not to bring back a deleted page.
- The trash is not a backup. For safety nets, export regularly and back up the database.
